7 17 wins coveted spot on Newsweek's Best list
7 17 one of only 17 financial institutions in Ohio earning top spot for the new year
WARREN, OH – 7 17 Credit Union has been nationally recognized one of "America’s Best Regional Banks and Credit Unions 2024.” The study, which analyzed more than 9,400 banks and regional credit unions across the United States, awarded only the top 250 credit unions and top 250 regional banks. In order to receive such a top designation, the banks and credit unions had to first meet certain scoring criteria that look at stability, profitability, risk exposure during uncertain times, and the overall health of the organization.
Here is what Newsweek says about the benefits of a credit union like 7 17:
“As financial cooperatives owned by their members, they foster a sense of shared ownership and responsibility. This unique structure translates into a commitment to the financial well-being of its members, often resulting in lower fees, competitive interest rates, and a more flexible approach to lending. The community engagement of credit unions extends beyond financial transactions. Many credit unions actively contribute to local initiatives, reinforcing their role as integral community partners.”
7 17 President and CEO John Demmler remarked how proud he is of the credit union, “It is an honor that the strength of 7 17, driven by our commitment to our members and the broader community is being recognized nationally.”
Demmler went on to say, “We look forward to expanding our reach and continuing to help our members protect their assets and improve their financial wellbeing. And we will continue to commit time and resources to the local community while holding the values of personal respect at the very core of who we are.”
